Whether I played Magnificent Multiplication back in the 80’s or I played it yesterday, it has the same effect on my students as it had for me. I loved it then, and they love it as well. The rhythms and the rhymes are awesome. First, I dusted off the vinyl for my son when he was having trouble learning his multiplication facts, and later I took it to work where I teach special education students. Retaining information such as multiplication facts is always challenging for them. So, that’s why I decided to bring out my vinyl that I saved since I was 9 years old. However, the record was scratched in a few places and I was not able to play every song. That’s when I went on a mission to find Chip Fields’ greatest hit on Amazon.
I was so ecstatic that I found it. I couldn’t wait to get back to work to play it for my students, incorporated into the day, through my transition times. c Best of all, I’ve had a great increase in the number of students that actually know their multiplication facts automatically. So, my mom who is 86 now thanks you for helping me then, and I thank Wise Owl for allowing me to travel back in time and bring Magnificent Multiplication to our future.
